Are all 32 NHL teams included?
Yes. All 32 active franchises across both conferences and all 4 divisions. The Utah Hockey Club (formerly Arizona Coyotes) is included under its current name.
Can I filter to just Eastern or Western Conference teams?
Use the conference filter at the top. Pick Eastern and you're drawing from those 16 teams only. Stack it with a division filter to go further — Metropolitan gives you the Hurricanes, Blue Jackets, Devils, Islanders, Rangers, Flyers, Penguins, and Capitals.
Can I pick multiple teams at once without repeats?
Set the count to however many you need and click once. The generator pulls without replacement, so the same franchise can't appear twice in one draw.
What does "exclude already-picked teams" do?
Once a team is drawn, it's off the board for your session. Each new click only pulls from franchises that haven't come up yet. Hit "Reset & start over" to put all 32 back in play.
Is the result actually random, or does it favor popular teams?
Actually random. Fisher-Yates gives every team in the pool an identical probability. The Maple Leafs and Canadiens have the same odds as the Blue Jackets and Sharks — 1 in 32 each from a full pool.
Can I use this for EA Sports NHL Be a Pro or franchise mode?
That's one of the most common uses. Pick a team here and start your save with that franchise. It's a reliable way to end up grinding a rebuild in Columbus or Anaheim instead of starting with a Cup contender every time.
