Hit the button and we'll pick a team for you.
It picks a team for you. That's it. Click the button and one of the 32 NFL franchises comes up at random — no bias, no favorites, no arguing about who gets which team.
You can filter to a specific conference (AFC or NFC), narrow it to one division, or just pull from the full 32-team pool. If you need multiple teams at once — say, 4 teams for a pick 'em bracket — set the count and hit the button once.
Most people land here for one of these 5 reasons:
Every active franchise is included. Here's the full breakdown by conference and division.
Same algorithm as the main team generator: Fisher-Yates shuffle. Every team in the filtered pool gets an equal probability. The Kansas City Chiefs have the same shot as the Cleveland Browns.
The "exclude already picked" option keeps a running list in your browser session. Once a team gets picked, it's off the board until you reset. Useful when you're assigning teams to multiple people and don't want duplicates.
Are all 32 NFL teams included?
Yes. All 32 active franchises from both conferences and all 8 divisions. No expansions teams, no relocated history — just the current 32.
Can I pick only AFC or only NFC teams?
Use the conference filter above the button. Pick AFC and you'll only draw from those 16 teams. Same for NFC. You can also narrow it to a single division — AFC North gives you Ravens, Bengals, Browns, and Steelers.
Can I pick multiple teams at once without repeats?
Set the number to however many you need, then click once. The generator pulls from the pool without replacement, so you'll never get the same team twice in a single draw.
What does "exclude already-picked teams" do?
Once a team gets picked, it's crossed off for the rest of your session. Click the button again and it only draws from teams that haven't come up yet. Hit "Reset & start over" to put all 32 back in play.
Is this actually random or does it favor popular teams?
Actually random. The Fisher-Yates shuffle gives every team in the current pool exactly the same probability. There's no weighting toward the Cowboys or Chiefs — they're just 2 of 32 (or whatever your filtered pool is).
Can I use this for a Madden franchise or career mode?
That's one of the most common uses. Pick your team with the generator, then start a new franchise with that team. It's a good way to finally play a season as the Jacksonville Jaguars when you'd never choose them yourself.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The layout stacks cleanly on any phone screen. The buttons are tap-sized so you don't have to zoom in.
